Ok, Yahoo! just opened up today and I'm looking to setup the league there. We have a couple of options though considering we have more roster space than I had anticipated (30 man rosters).
How many generic P slots do you guys want to have?
Obviously there are advantages and disadvantages to having more or less generic P slots. The advantage being more RP's can pitch or more SP's can be guaranteed starts. The disadvantage is that the players left over can only be tracked here via the team rosters. That means that individually we'll have to search the site (the search is actually pretty nice once you figure it out) to make sure we aren't scalping another team's player. This would be an issue anyway though when it comes down to prospects.
I want everyone to answer the poll, so if you read it, vote for it!

What was the "active lineup" over on fantrax?
I would advocate for not changing the number of "scoring players" per day at all from last year.

I tend to agree with you, however, this is a deeper league counting a relatively hard to get stat in HLD's (which is why the arbitration values are set so low), lets also not forget that a MLB club can use as many RP's as they have, where as we're limited to active roster spaces.
I also like it as a GM without enough RP's to fill in the P slots can put in an extra SP and not have to worry about possibly missing starts.

We should be talking about all of the rules for next year. I'm always in favor of tweaking rules from year to year, but I think we should have everything decided before free agency. I've been building my team with the assumption that we are using the same rules as last year. It would be nice to know exactly what we are doing for next year.

You're right, we can use last year's setup for this year and use this as an idea for next. Keep the votes coming in though!

Ok, the league is setup, here's the link: baseball.fantasysports.yahoo.com/b1/14515The password is: dynsatybaseball I have FAAB setup up for waivers. We will be using the FAAB for prospects and arbitration players unprotected from contracted teams. Remember though to LIST ALL PLAYERS YOU UNPROTECT! I cannot stress that enough, it'll save us a lot of time and effort if you post all arbitration players you unprotect. There may be more to it, but, the leadership will be discussing that soon.

It's like having a separate account for bidding on players. Lets say that MMike Moustakas 3B (KC) was available to pick up, everyone would have a chance to acquire him, but they have to bid their FAAB against each other, the winning bid gets the player. However, for our purposes, this will not change the cost of the player as they are driven by their service clock and arbitration values.
It's similar to waivers, but instead of having a simple priority list that favors luck rather than any cunning, FAAB allows GM's to bid on players, try to acquire undervalued players hoping for big returns or spend it all on a few players to get the top guys.
FAAB renews at the beginning of every season. If you have FAAB but no cap space, you wont be able to use your FAAB. We all start with 100 FAAB.

I see besides Indians I am the only one to have joined. If you are having trouble after you click the link just click get another team. It is under the Baseball '11 tab. From there you select join custom league then put in ID (14515) and password (dynastybaseball).
